Dressember 5th

I didn't manage even a skirt yesterday as I was in slob gear getting the house shipshape before christmas. I've managed a dress over a pair of jeans today but don't have a photo - I'll pop today's outfit back on when I'm home from work tomorrow and catch up.

Dressember 1st

Please excuse the minging pics. I'm full of cold/flu and feeling awful!

I like this dress, but I'm not sure it likes me! It was a primark special last year and I wore it a lot but had left it languishing in the depths of the wardrobe! I didn't make that much of an effort with accessories due to feeling pooey, but I'm hoping to make a better effort tomorrow.

Dress: Primark
Shoes & cardigan: New Look
Pashmina: somewhere in Sweden!
Tights: M&S

How the chuff am I going to manage this???

I haven't managed to get through my clothes and have a good look at what I do and don't have. So, tonight I'm thinking about what I can do change things up.

1. Mix n match - I don't have a good eye for colours and what co-ordinates well. I'm one of those that sticks to black and puts on a bit of colour to play things safe. However, I've seen others mix up colours and I've realised that I have the same shades of things so I know I can make things work. I just need to be brave!

2. Accessories - I have more than I like to admit to! I don't wear watches, but I have bracelets, bangles, necklaces, earrings & scarves, plus different coloured tights (they count, right?). Hopefully this will give me a new slant on an old look.

3. Shoes - I have a ton of shoes. Too many. So I'm going to make use of them. I often just go for my trusty suede flat boots in this weather as they're pretty warm and I'm not cut out for wearing heels in the snow and ice! But if the weather is not conducive to wearing heels outside, I pledge to wearing them in the office to finish the look! I'll just have to remember to bring them home at the end of the day - I'm pretty sure I have 3 pairs under my desk!

4. Bags - Again, I own too many. But they're mainly all different colours so that's allowed! I do like the look of shoes matching the bag, but I won't worry too much if it doesn't happen.

I'm feeling quite excited about the whole thing - my mind definitely wanders back to what I can wear each day and how to finish the looks off.

One final thing - a very big Good Luck to the lovely Kate AKA Spiragirl who goes back to full time work tomorrow after being a fabby stay at home Mummy to her gorgeous children for many years. You'll be stunning chick!

So then...

I've somehow signed myself up for Dressember! I have a number of dresses and skirts that I generally wear for work so this part shouldn't be too much of a problem. The tricky bit will be the weekends, but I will give it a go nonetheless!

First things first, I need to go through the entire wardrobe and figure out my options. I'm hoping I have enough to not repeat an outfit more than twice...wish me luck!
